Local CSA Seeking New Members
In the heart of San Timoteo Canyon lies Three Sisters Farm. Now in its 16th year, the certified organic farm was started by Abby and Jason Harned in 2008.
The small scale market garden is a model of sustainability with its biodiversity, low carbon footprint, efficient use of resources and low-tillage practices.
The produce is sold at The Farmers Market at the Grove School in Redlands, and through a CSA.
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Local families support the farm by purchasing a share of the harvest on a quarterly basis.
A typical produce share includes lettuce, a variety of greens, root crops like carrots and beets, fresh herbs like basil and dill, and seasonal items like tomatoes, zucchini and eggplant.
“We’re famous for our greens like arugula, spinach, kale and lettuces,” says Abby. ”Our CSA members are cooking and eating seasonally with the freshest organic ingredients.”
In order to keep their produce local, memberships are limited to residents of Redlands and its surrounding communities (Loma Linda, Highland, Yucaipa).
Spring quarter is in full swing and openings are available! To join the CSA, send an email to the farmer at: abby.harned@gmail.com
